WEB APPLICATION DEVELOPER

JTG inc. is seeking a highly-skilled web application developer to join our web application development team.

Applicants should be able to demonstrate understanding/ability to develop in a WINS stack framework and to integrate multiple languages on the client side (HTML, CSS, JavaScript/JQuery, AJAX, etc.) across multiple projects. Applicant should be comfortable working with UI/UX developers, Subject Matter Experts, and various key stakeholders in an “Agile” development process. Applicant must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills and be able to professionally represent the Development Team at all times. The candidate should be comfortable in a conservative, professional, multicultural government environment. Essential Job Functions: 

Web Application Developer will work closely with Systems Architect to collaboratively design and implement an authoring/content-management web application that will be used by the customer to developer interactive language-learning activities.
 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

The ideal candidate must be able to demonstrate, through a personal portfolio, experience in designing and implementing modular solutions for dynamic, data-driven web applications. The Developer must have experience with the .NET, C#, & SQL The candidate must be experienced in ADO.NET in relational databases (MS SQL) and building interactive applications that utilize them. The developer will have experience working with Object-Relational Mapping, specifically writing SQL Queries. The developer will work with UI/UX developer to create engaging rich-internet application interfaces using AJAX for dynamic data retrieval and HTML DOM manipulation.
 

3-5 years of experience with web application development in ASP.NET (C#)

• Experience with Web Forms
• Experience with Linq to SQL

2-3 years of experience with Rich Internet Applications

• HTML5 and CSS3 for engaging display
• XML and JSON for concise data markup
• JavaScript for high-performance HTML DOM manipulation and AJAX data retrieval

2-3 years of Database Administration experience using MS SQL

• SQL Queries
• Linq to SQL
  • Comfortable using Subversion and/or other version control software for codebase management
  • Basic-level with Regular Expression (JavaScript Regex a plus) to create search patterns

 

Education and Experience: 

4-year degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science or related field

Advantageous Experience:
 

• Work in Foreign Language Education field or with Foreign Language Educators 
• Work with UNICODE, complex and Right-to-Left Language Scripts 
• Work with SCORM API

Other:

• Must be able to pass a background check and maintain the necessary level of security requirement status for the location of the requesting unit (National Agency Check - NAC-1, DLIFLC’s background check, or higher security checks - SC) as needed.

The position reports to the Application Support and Programming Project Manager.
