JTG is Seeking a Translation and Localization Project Manager


The Translation and Localization Manager Project Manager will oversee and perform project management on established and new language related contracts. The PM will manage a team of freelance Linguists, Editors, Graphic Designers, and Quality Control Specialists, as well as manage operational aspects of ongoing translation contract related tasks. The Translation and Localization Project Manager will provide exceptional customer service to JTG clients and exercise great communication skills with vendors and clients, mainly by phone and email, and in person, as required.

Responsibilities: The Translation and Localization Project Manager’s responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Manage 5 – 20 ongoing projects simultaneously
  • Ensure databases are updated in a timely fashion
  • Provide estimates according to contract requirements
  • Manage and recruit linguists, vendors, and in-house resources
  • Deliver projects and assignments to clients on time
  • Work with vendors and internal team members to provide high-quality, on-time deliverables
  • Demonstrate effective communication with clients
  • Select, manage, and monitor external vendor teams
  • Exhibit strong mindset towards production processes and quality assurance

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of related project management experience
  • US citizenship with the ability to obtain a security clearance
  • Translation workflow experience
  • Experience using CAT tools
  • Experience with translation standards
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, especially MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Ability to learn quickly, troubleshoot, resolve issues, maximize system functionality, and provide input on process automation
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, work under deadlines, and juggle multiple tasks/assignments
  • High level of motivation and initiative
  • Ability to work approximately one weekend a month, on a rotating schedule

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with programs such as FrameMaker, InDesign, and WordPress
  • Proficiency in a second language

Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher
