Onsite Chinese Mandarin Language and Culture Instructors in Washington-Baltimore Area

JTG is looking for Full-Time Chinese Mandarin Language and Culture Instructors

We are looking for experienced language educators to support a military language program. You will be responsible for teaching Chinese Mandarin language to beginner students. We will provide you with course syllabi and materials and you will incorporate authentic resources.

Location: Onsite in Washington, DC-Baltimore, MD, area

Status: Contract

Duration: August 28, 2023 – November 29, 2024

Schedule: Full-time

Responsibilities

• Provide intensive, student-centered language and cultural training for adult professionals in a small-group setting.
• Deliver daily instruction that focuses on listening, reading, and speaking skills, as well as cultural and area studies knowledge.
• Develop activities with associated multimedia resources using a task-based, student-centered, and skill-integrated approach.

Requirements for successful candidates

• A minimum of four (4) years of experience in teaching Chinese Mandarin language to adults
• Willingness to take the Oral Proficiency Interview (OPI) in Chinese and English
• Understanding of either Interagency Language Roundtable (ILR) or American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL) proficiency levels
• Ability to teach onsite on a daily basis
