JTG is currently seeking Editors and a Lead Editor.

This position is contingent upon contract award.

Location: Reston, VA

Status: Full-Time

Responsibilities:

• Perform editing and review of intelligence products for American English grammar and follow provided style guides
• Utilize knowledge of US foreign policy and national security objectives in the editing and review process
• Utilize in-depth knowledge of proofreading, copyediting, and publishing standards (both hardcopy and digital) to finalize intelligence products
• Provide advisory services on an individual and customer-wide scale and propose plans to improve product accuracy and quality control within the customer workflow process
• Track and maintain quality assurance metrics
• Perform formatting production tasks and classification production tasks for intelligence products
• Apply, filter, and edit metadata for intelligence products

Qualifications:

• US citizenship
• Hold current ISSA/TS clearances and maintain SCI eligibility
• Minimum three (3) years of experience as a professional editor performing copyediting and proofreading for intelligence products
• Familiar with classification procedures and classification production tasks
• Familiar with general publication requirements for intelligence agencies and products
• Highly proficient in standard American English writing and grammar
• Highly proficient in utilizing digital publishing programs such as MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet Explorer, Firefox, and Adobe Acrobat Professional
• Able to work independently and as part of a team

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree minimum (degree in English or a related field preferred).

This position reports to the Program Manager.
