Cleared/Clearable Localization Specialists – Journeyman Chinese Linguists

JTG is currently seeking Cleared/Clearable Localization Specialists – Journeyman Chinese Linguists
 

Location: Reston, VA

Responsibilities:

• Assist in the creation and maintenance of cloud environments for human language technology (HLT) tool deployment
• Provide technical support on human language technology projects
• Facilitate unit- and enterprise-wide technology rollouts
• Train linguists in human language technology
• Assist with troubleshooting foreign language content issues related to triage, translation, transcription, interpretation, and localization
• Validate new features in computer-assisted translation (CAT) tools, translation memory servers, and human language technology tools.
• Manage translation memories
• Identify commercial tools to deploy
• Automate file analysis, parsing, and filtering
• Write scripts and/or macros in various program languages to automate repetitive tasks
• Prepare file types for localization process (including re-coding and script writing)
• Provide estimates on projects

Basic Qualifications:

• US citizenship and willingness to obtain TS/SCI clearance with polygraph
• Four years of on-the-job experience in human language technology field
• Experience with computer-assisted translation (CAT) tools, localization engineering, and translation memory servers
• Experience with desktop publishing (DTP), Adobe suite, and Microsoft Office tools and applications
• Able to pass an English language reading comprehension test
• Able to pass translation test from the foreign language into English at interagency language roundtable (ILR) level 2+ or higher

Preferred Qualifications:

• Current TS/SCI clearance with polygraph
• Experience with HTML, XML, ASP, and JSP

Education: BA/BS or higher preferred

Salary: 175K+ depending on experience and qualifications.
