Federally Certified Spanish Court Interpreter / Legal Linguist

Status: Full-Time

Location: On-Site in Denver, CO

Timeline: anticipated start - September 1, 2026

JTG, inc. is seeking a Federally Certified Spanish<>English Interpreter / Legal Linguist for a full-time, on-site position supporting a U.S. Attorney's Office in downtown Denver.

What You'll Do

• Provide simultaneous and consecutive interpreting and sight translation for witness interviews, proffers, trial preparation, grand jury proceedings, and court hearings
• Translate legal and evidentiary documents in both directions (indictments, plea agreements, motions, discovery, and correspondence), including certified translations when required
• Transcribe and translate audio/video evidence (recorded calls, interviews, surveillance media) with time-stamped, speaker-labeled transcripts
• Perform quality review of translations and maintain case terminology glossaries
• Work Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m., at a federal office in downtown Denver.

Required Qualifications

• Current Federally Certified Court Interpreter (FCCI) credential in Spanish - both written and oral phases passed
• Minimum 3 years of recent professional legal interpreting and translation experience (criminal investigations, prosecutions, courts, public defense, or law enforcement)
• Demonstrated written legal translation and audio transcription/translation experience
• Native or near-native proficiency in Spanish and English, including legal, colloquial, and regional usage (Mexican/Central American variants strongly preferred)
• Ability to obtain and maintain DOJ background investigation and suitability approvals (U.S. citizenship is required for the background check, per client requirements.)
